Great Sand Dunes National Park in Colorado is home to the tallest dune towers in the United States, rising over 750 feet, at an elevation of 8,700 feet above sea level. Aside from the dunes, you'll find abundant hiking opportunities, as well as a four-wheel-drive trail along the challenging Medano Pass.
