Day 1: Denver
Mid Morning Arrival
Cherry Creek Shopping Center: The premier attraction in Denver is located minutes from downtown Denver. Choose from 160 shops and restaurants featuring stores such as Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue, Tiffany & Co., Anthropologie, Burberry, and Nordstrom. Visitors receive the “Passport to Shopping” which offers discounts to over 60 stores and restaurants. Denver Art Museum: The Museum’s internationally renowned American Indian art collection and Institute of Western American Art are highlighted, in addition to American and European painting and sculpture; architecture, design & graphics; textile art; Asian art; modern & contemporary art; and New World art.

Day 2: Colorado Springs
Manitou & Pikes Peak Cog Railway: For 115 years, the Manitou and Pikes Peak Railway (the world’s highest cog train, the highest Colorado train AND the highest train in the ) has taken passengers to the 14,110 foot summit of Pikes Peak. Lunch at Garden of Gods Trading Post: The Cafe Patio garden complete with stream and fountain is a perfect location to relax and enjoy lunch. The menu features world famous Buffalo Burgers, Southwest wraps, Chicken Sandwiches, a variety of deli sandwiches, soups and salads. Garden of Gods Visitor & Nature Center: This FREE world-class visitor center is the most visited attraction in the Pikes Peak Region with state-of-the art interactive exhibits and gift shops that offer a wide variety of Colorado art and mementos.

Day 3: Cañon City
Echo Canyon River Expeditions: Rafting on Colorado whitewater will be the highlight of your vacation and is an ideal summer activity for people of all ages and abilities. Our guides are devoted professionals who are interesting, intelligent, and fun to be with. They are experts in everything from rowing a rapid to sharing a good story. Day 4: Canon City
Royal Gorge Bridge & Park: Walk a quarter-mile across the highest suspension bridge in the world. Visitors are invited to ride an aerial tram which offers a 360-degree view of the gorge, the bridge, and the majestic mountains. Buckskin Joe Frontier Town & Railway: Watch out and head for cover as gunfights explode throughout the day on the streets of this authentic old west town. Hop on board the Royal Gorge Scenic Railway for a spectacular, relaxing journey through the Royal Gorge Region. The climax of this 3 mile, 30 minute scenic ride is the best view of the Royal Gorge and the bridge available anywhere.
Overnight in Cañon City.
Day 5: Alamosa
Rio Grande Scenic Railroad: Offering a variety of trains throughout Colorado. Take a ride to Great Sand Dunes National Park for two hours of exploration and fun. Also available is a train to Antonito, Colorado where visitors can catch a ride on the Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad. Grab lunch at one of the 40 restaurants in or around Alamosa. Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad: The spectacular mountain steam engine will provide train enthusiasts with an old fashioned ride through the mountains. Be sure to check out the “special” train rides offered, including the Antonito Moonlight Dinner Train and Plein Air Artist Train.

Day 6: Antonito
Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad: The spectacular mountain steam engine will provide train enthusiasts with an old fashioned ride through the mountains. Be sure to check out the “special” train rides offered, including the Antonito Moonlight, Dinner Train and Plein Air Artist Train.
Dinner & Overnight in Pagosa Springs: Perhaps visiting one of the many hot springs available to travelers. Relax!
Day 7: Durango/Silverton
Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad: Authentic turn-of-the-century, coal-fired, steam-powered narrow gauge railroad through the scenic San Juan Mountains of Southwest Colorado. Designated as a National Historic Landmark and ranked in the top ten scenic railroads in the world. It’s more than a train ride; it’s a step back in time and history! Depart from Durango. Interested in extending your stay? Why not! Individuals interested in extending their stay one or two days can travel along the spectacular San Juan Skyway, one of ’s Scenic Byways, when traveling to Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park. The park is full of beautiful and timeless towering cliffs and amazing wildflowers fill the Gunnison National Forest.
Travel to Grand Junction, “Colorado’s Wine Country,” and savor some of their fantastic wine at one of the many wineries throughout the region, or take in more beautiful scenery by visiting Colorado National Monument.
Depart from Grand Junction or Denver.
